American with Disability Act (ADA) Transition Plan Implementation $3 million in stimulus funds are being used by Sacramento County for ADA related sidewalk ramp upgrades and intersection improvements. Sidewalk Ramps: The sidewalk curb ramp portion of the project enables SACDOT to fix curb ramps at 375 locations that have been requested by the community. Project work will include removal and replacement of existing curbs, gutters and sidewalks to current ADA standards. Intersection Improvements: Nine existing signalized intersections will have ADA pedestrian improvements which includes the following work: install new pedestrians ramps at all four corners of the intersection; upgrade existing pedestrians signal heads and push buttons; re-stripe crosswalks; replace traffic loop detectors; and, slurry seal pavement. Contract Award, September 2009 Funding Estimated project costs are $3 million and will be funded by the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act (ARRA). The County’s local share is funded with Measure “A” Sales Tax funds. Contact Information
