Bradshaw Road @ Gerber Road Intersection Improvement Project

Project Description

This project will improve the intersection of Bradshaw Road and Gerber Road and it will provide a number of roadway system benefits:

• Improving roadway safety.
• Increased accessibility for persons with disabilities.
• Improving bicycle and pedestrian facilities.
• Americans with Disability Act compliance.

This project includes:

• Traffic signal modification at the Bradshaw Road and Gerber Road intersection.
• Pavement widening from 2 to 4 lanes within the project limit.
• Construction of  edge of pavement, roadside ditches, driveway conforms, AC berm.
• Installation of a 42” storm drain pipe for drainage improvements.
• Pedestrian crosswalks (with audible signal heads).
• ADA ramps for persons with disabilities.
• Placement of AC overlay and striping.

Note: This is a cooperative project between the County and Developer.

Tentative Schedule

Preliminary Engineering, 2003 to 2004
Environmental Study, 2004 to 2006
Design, 2007 to 2008
Right-of-Way Acquisition, 2007 to 2009
Construction to be completed in June 2010.

Funding

The total project construction cost is $1.41 million, which includes $330,000 for the storm drain and a portion of roadway improvements and is funded by the Developer. The remaining $1.08 million for the Department of Transportation portion of the project is funded by Measure A Sales Tax funds.
